Across program evaluation, impact measurement, governance review, organizational policy, systems design, and community based research, our team carries more than 25 years of collective experience. We were working inside organizations, supporting programs, reviewing policies, and strengthening decision making structures. Again and again, we encountered the same pattern.

We noticed that community perspectives arrived late, after key directions were already set. Sometimes they remained informal, acknowledged but not integrated into the systems or accountability structures. The gap between system design and lived reality was structural. It required its own response. That realization is what led to the formation of CCGBA+.

CCGBA+ is BIPOC led and governed. Our leadership lives intersecting realities of race, migration status, and gender identity. Many of us have navigated the same systems we now seek to strengthen. This proximity shapes how we see systems. We understand how easily good intentions can miss the mark when community voices are not present at the earliest stages of decision making.

From the beginning, we built a relational model that keeps decision making close to affected communities. We create structured processes where lived realities inform direction while policies and programs are still taking shape. We integrate that knowledge into evaluation, governance review, and organizational learning. This is the foundation of CCGBA+. It reflects how we started, why we organized, and how we continue to grow as an organization rooted in community and accountable in practice.
