Dr. Moussa Magassa

Dr. Magassa serves as Associate Vice-President, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Professor of Education at Mount Royal University in Calgary. With over two decades of experience advancing human rights, anti-racism education, and intercultural leadership, he brings deep expertise and a strong commitment to building equitable institutions.

Dr. Moussa’s PhD research focused on the intersections of human rights, critical race theory, anti-racism education, Islamophobia, and discourses of equity, diversity, and inclusion. His career spans community engagement and academia, including leadership roles at the University of Victoria, Royal Roads University, and the University of British Columbia.

Previously, Dr. Magassa served as co-chair of Resilience BC (anti-racism advisory committee and strategic planning), an advisor on the academic and practitioner advisory committee for Simon Fraser University’s Migrant Systems Change Leadership Certificate program, President of the Francophone Society of Victoria, and a board director for the Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique.
