GBA+ Grant

Applications are open until February 13

Overview

This grant helps communities by strengthening the small organisations that serve them. It targets the capacity gaps that can limit how well organisations respond to the diverse needs of the people they support.

CCGBA+ is offering a limited number of funded GBA+ reviews because we keep hearing the same thing from nonprofits: the need is clear, and budgets and capacity are tight. A review like this typically costs about $5,000, and that price can put it out of reach. This grant is our way of covering that cost for a small cohort, so more organisations can strengthen their work now, not later.

A key barrier we keep hearing about is the “chicken-and-egg” funding problem. Many funders now expect organisations to demonstrate a GBA+ approach. Yet small organisations often do not have the time or budget to build that capacity upfront. Without that capacity in place, they can struggle to qualify for the very funding that would help them grow. This grant helps break that cycle by covering a GBA+ review and providing practical tools and frameworks that can support stronger funding applications and reporting.

Stronger funding isn’t the only outcome, however; the review also strengthens how organisations actually operate.Through hands-on support, selected nonprofits will receive targeted recommendations to improve program design, governance, and service delivery. The goal is to help organisations become more resilient and sustainable so they can keep delivering for their communities.

Because our funding is limited, we can offer this grant to only a small number of nonprofits in this intake window.
